Sure, the books recommend it, but I don't think it's necessary (unless it becomes contaminated or the guinea pigs finish it all).
Changing it once every two or three days should suffice. Warnings about fungus, bacteria and algae sound rather paranoid. When you clean the bottles, however, be sure to clean ALL the parts. Submerge the pieces in some bleach water (1 gallon of water with 1 tablespoon of bleach) for your peace of mind. Rinse them THOROUGHLY afterwards.
Keep in mind that when guinea pigs live in their natural habitat, nobody changes their water supply on a daily basis. For some reason, my bank changes the smallest things everyday in the content and then back to the way they were the day after. They will put a word in caps or reword one sentence, then change it right back the next day.

I have two goldfish (common) and a catfish in my 30 gallon tank. I would like them to grow as fast as possible, so beyond feeding them the proper amounts, would it be ok to do water changes every other day? I have a double biowheel filter, and its been well cycled, but to keep the water in pristine shape I want to and am willing to change the water every other day. He combined them into a novel called The Humanoids. I recommend you read them, or the novel.

While I'm sure Gates would love for Windows to have that kind of capability, Gates is not the kind of man who would appreciate Nicole Hollander's priceless phrase %26quot;My weight is always perfect for my height, which varies%26quot;. Even the choice of underwear is dictated by individual factors I can't imagine him taking into account. So the concept of Gates's OS doing this for us is truly horrifying, but not on the level of Williamson's story -- you can reasonably assume it would be the wrong underwear for most people as you can assume it is because of the marketing that most people accept Windows.
Finally your name. I hate to say this, but Slackware is a young person's distro (so is Gentoo, which I'm on now) most Linux users I know who are better established use Fedora, Debian or a derivative, Mandriva, Opensuse.... I'm not trying to disrespect Slackware but I've moved on (and come back to it a few times) and it really does seem the wonderful education of learning to make it work is then better applied to UNIX itself (like FreeBSD) before you finally settle down to the question which distro best meets your style?
