Visiting to park along utah highway 12 is it better to stay at one location or change location every day?

Planning on flying into Las Vegas then to Zion national Park, We're head ed to Bryce cayon next following highway 12 is it better to get a different hotel every night?. Traveling the first week of september is there any thing we should know ?Visiting to park along utah highway 12 is it better to stay at one location or change location every day?Well, Highway 12 from Zions to Bryce is Gorgeous. However, i would also recommend that you go up Highway 12 and drive the Burr Trail road to Lake Powell. If you go to Zions the first night and only plan to stay one day at zions, Id would drive on and stay the NEXT night at Rubys Inn at Bryce. Bryce Canyon in the morning is SPECTACULAR. If you dont hike in the park, it will take you 1/2 of a day to see most everything interesting. If you want to hike, Id go the wall street route.. If you are ambitious, you can hike through Bryce Canyon to Tropic.. But be sure someone drives to Tropic to pick you up. I would then head up 12 to Tropic, escalante and up to boulder. There are some stretches of 12 that are only 24 feet wide on the top of the Mesa. If the leaves are turning be sure to go see Hells backbone (Rent a 4x4 if you are going to do this) When you get to Boulder, turn off and drive the Burr Trail. Its awesome.Take the Wolverine Canyon loop. You might find some petrified wood. (Its a sandy wash and if it has recently rained.. DONT DO IT) You will come to a cattle guard and on your right will be a rock with a hole in it. Stop and get out. There are tons of green colored rocks (lots of copper there) that are pretty neat. . Then stay the night at Defiance House at Lake Powell. Lake Powell is terrific. (Another good reason to rent a 4x4 so you can explore the shoreline) Go back to Hanksville and take 24 throuh Fruita (cool place) and go to Torrey. Eat at the Cafe Diablo, but not too much. Go on to Bicknell and stop at the Sunglow and have some pickle or pinto bean pie. I know it sounds disgusting, but its awesome. Stay on 24 and that will take you to Koosharem. Turn there and take 62 to 80 then through Circleville (Butch Cassidy made that place famous) and then 20 back to I-15. Lots of decent hotels there.. Lots to see.. antelope.. Deer, occasionally elk. It will be worth the effort.
