In the 50s & 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look?

Are women today spoiled? Do they care less about attacting a man since they can make their own money? Why were women willing to wear them and suffer the discomfort in order to look better back then - but now they hang out with rolls of fat, jeans falling off their hips and a generally slovenly look? Have women lowered the bar - and men have just gone along with it?In the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look? Some women just don't have the time to devote to it....But wearing a girdle? Come on get with the times....How would you like to wear a girdle for your woman? A bit uncomfortable? We don't live in the past anymore....Girdles can cut off circulation and are not necessarily good to wear.....Besides, the %26quot;Stepford Wives%26quot; was only a movie, there are no Stepford wives in the real world lol...In the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look?If you lookk around, you willnotice that the younger females are the ones with the rolls of fat hanging over their waistbelts. The older women either cover up with a t shirt or exercise and are in good shape. In the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look?yeah, heaven forbid women would chose comfort over sucking it in to impress men.

What's next? Women not wearing makeup in public? Or how about women in pants suits?

Oh yeah, we already do those things!

Oh yeah it's the year 2006 not 1950!In the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look?my wife wears a GIRDLE or cincher along with RHT stockings from secretsinlace.com everyday, shes 31 yrs old and a few of her younger friends wear the same. so its alive and well trust meIn the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look?Women don't wear girdles because it is outdated and uncomfortable. If women are in good shape, they shouldn't need to wear one anyway. HTH : )In the 50s %26amp; 60s women used to wear girdles every day - what changed? Do they care less about how they look? No, women today are not %26quot;spoiled%26quot;. Women today have finally woken up and realized that their self-worth does not depend wholly on their ability to attract a man and look pretty, and have finally been granted the opprotunity to have a life and career of their own and make choices in life. Rest assured, plenty of women today still care about looking %26quot;good%26quot;--I, for instance, take pride in looking professional and trim, and when I go out on the weekends, I certainly make an effort to dress up and look nice.

However, just because women today still care about looking %26quot;nice%26quot; does not mean they are all-consumed by the need to do anything and sacrifice anything just to please a man. After all, men certainly don't do the same for women--How would you feel if I said that all men should wear girdles around every day and %26quot;be willing to wear them and suffer the discomfort in order to look good%26quot;....all just to look pleasing to women? Truth be told, I have seen twice as many %26quot;slovenly and slightly overweight%26quot; men wandering around than women. I'll start taking questions like yours halfway seriously when they address both genders, instead of singling out women as if we should go back to the days when our only value was to attract men, get married, and pop out babies.
