I work in the IT department in a large firm. My office mate is very cheap and he asks me to borrow change every single day(for the snack machine). I would not mind if it were once or twice, but I added up lasts month%26#039;s tithing to him and it averages out to about 20 bucks a month! He has also asked me twice to get him something when I was running to McDonalds and said %26quot;I will get you for lunch%26quot; or I will go to the ATM at lunch and give you some cash%26quot; but he had the nerve to %26quot;forget ..both times. I cant even go to the snack machine anymore because I know he will ask me for change and I am almost to the point of being rude to him, and dont want that to happen because I tend to have a very sharp tongue when I get angry. The thing that really bothers me is that he is the type of guy who points out ALL of my mistakes no matter how petty but yey he cant bring his own f------ change!! ughhh what can I say without being rude while letting him have it?My coworker asks me for change every single day!!!?Tell him, %26quot;Oh, sorry, after I get myself something here, im out of money.%26quot;

You: Are you just going to borrow it and pay me back?
He: Yeah - no problem, I just forgot today and am going to the bank tomorrow and going to give you it back.
You: Well, if you are going to pay me back - could you please start by paying me back the past month%26#039;s you borrowed money from me?
*Try not to sneer with your tongue... but if he%26#039;s been %26quot;borrowing%26quot; from you... you need to confront him
If none of these work,
then I suggest to immediately confront him... and don%26#039;t care if you sneer. Tell him you%26#039;re not going to give you anymore until he pays you back.
Also, if possible - try to get other people on your side. Have a friend going to the vending machine or out to eat... either have him borrow from your friend or have your friend back you up saying you only have enough money for you or have your friend say that she is treating JUST the two of you...
and also... *post note... if none of these work... talk to your boss and see if you can have your office transferred to another part of the building so you don%26#039;t have to deal with him!
